How long does a typical cabinet installation take?
For an average kitchen (10–15 cabinets), the process usually takes 2–3 days once the materials are onsite. Larger areas or custom cabinets may take slightly longer to install. Full remodels that include demolition, cabinet installation, and countertop fitting often take between 2–3 weeks from start to finish, and projects with custom work may take as long as 4–8 weeks, accounting for manufacturing.
How do I properly maintain and clean my new cabinets?
The specifics will depend on whether you have wood cabinets or composite ones, but the general recommendations are:
- Clean regularly with a soft cloth and mild soap or cleaner. Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive products.
- Periodically tighten the hardware as needed.
- Immediately wipe up spills and splatter.
Can you match the new cabinets to my existing ones?
We can often closely match new cabinets, especially if you are getting custom cabinets. Perfect matches are challenging due to natural wood variations, discontinued styles, and how the existing cabinets have aged, but we work closely with you to get as close a match as possible.
Do I need to empty my kitchen prior to a cabinet installation?
You will need to empty all cabinets and drawers and clear the countertops before installation. Large appliances may need to be disconnected and moved as well. You should not need to move furniture in adjacent rooms, but we do advise covering items with drop cloths to protect them from dust and debris. We also ask that you be available for our team if we have questions or encounter unexpected problems and understand that access to the kitchen will be limited during the installation process.
